Beat the Stampede Virtual Race (Buffalo resident)
Run with the Stampede virtually! Run or walk from any location you choose - road, trail, treadmill, beach or track. Run 1 mile or 1609 meters on your own, at your own pace, and time it yourself. The virtual option is a great way for family and friends who may not be able to make it to the "the home of the Bulls", UB. Once you have completed the race, send your results to jenyrop@buffalo.edu. Metals for Buffalo residents will be available for pick up at Alumni Arena, Recreation Service after submission of race results. A metal will be sent to the address listed for registration within 2 weeks after submitting race results when registered as a non-Buffalo resident
The Beat the Stampede 1-mile race sponsored by UB Recreation of the University at Buffalo is a fun and exciting competition but also an event to bring awareness of the benefits movement has on both mental and physical health.
The race will begin and end on the track, organized by heats based on estimated mile times.
Registration can be individual or for a little more fun, register as either a male, female or non-binary team of three and compete with your department, club, group, team, or friends.
The lowest aggregate team wins from each category. Medals will be given to each participant at the conclusion of each heat.
Awards will be served at the conclusion of the race.
Bananas and water will be available for each participant at the end of each heat.
