The 3rd Annual Ambers Donor Dash<\/a> will be held on August 20, 2022. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aim of the run is to spread awareness of organ donation.  Amber was a nurse and chose to be an organ donor.  Her organs saved lives and helped others.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founders welcome runners to celebrate the awareness day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Swing Through 5K<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Swing Through 5K<\/a> is a certified course that runs on campus roads and down Airport Road towards the Baseball\/Softball fields.  The course starts and finishes in front of the Allied Health Building at the north end of campus.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be a post-race party with tasty food and cold drinks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chip Timing is provided by the River City Runners. You will need to secure the chip to your shoe, following the instructions provided. After the race, you need to return the chip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The top 3 male and female runners and 1st place in each age group will receive awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Sunrise Social Club Wildcat Summer Series – August 5K<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Sunrise Social Club Wildcat Summer Series<\/a> – August 5K will be held on August 21, 2022. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every third Sunday of the month at 7 am, starting from the Union Station Train Shed, you can run a scenic 5K. After the run will be a brunch. It is one of the most picturesque races in Alabama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A registration fee of $10 will guarantee you a bib for the entire series. That\u2019s four 5ks for $10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The course is marked and hand-timed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Revival Center 5K<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Revival Center 5K<\/a> will be held on August 27, 2022. The course is certified and chip-timed. You won’t find any steep hills or obstacles on the course, but the countryside view is scenic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each year the youth of Vincent Revival Center organizes a 5K race to raise money for Speed The Light. STL is a non-profit organization that helps equip missionaries all around the world. You can learn more about STL at http:\/\/speedthelight.ag.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Chupacabra Trail Race<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Chupacabra Trail Race<\/a> will be held on August 20, 2022. It will be run to the scenic mountains around Huntsville, AL. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This series is for new and experienced runners. Starting in June and finishing in August, these 4 runs are competitive and help runners increase their endurance through the hot summer months and have a lot of fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the course, you will find mountain views, creek crossings, waterfalls, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be aid stations with everything from water to granola bars and more. Marco’s Pizza is a sponsor of the Wild Thangs Trail Series! So the post-race party will be fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Fall Finish – Birmingham<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The course features the beautiful scenic landscape of Railroad Park!  You will enjoy running or walking and, of course, awards!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event is timed by Bodies Race Company, and you can see results at gorunkc.com. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The registration fee includes a race shirt and finishers medal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Head Over Teal 5K\/10K<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Head Over Teal 5K\/10K<\/a> will be held on September 24, 2022. Support the tradition of running during GYN Cancer Awareness Month!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All proceeds from the run will go to the Laura Crandall Brown Foundation.  This annual event helps to provide GYN cancer programs to women, patients, and caregivers throughout the year. The foundation was founded in 2009 and has granted more than $605,000 for cancer early detection research and has educated community members on GYN cancer prevention info, signs, and symptoms.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a very flat and fast course along Aldridge Creek and the Tennessee River in South Huntsville. The course starts and finishes at Ditto Landing Marina and is entirely on the Alridge Creek Greenway. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will be a Chip Timed event. Half and full marathon courses are certified.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be a post-race party with tasty food, drinks, and music at the Ditto Landing Marina Pavilion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

10. BHM 26.2<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The BHM 26.2 is a Boston Marathon Qualifier and will be held on October 2, 2022.  It is Alabama’s only entirely charitable race series, and all proceeds go to Magic Moments and Children’s of Alabama. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

BHM26.2’s run weekend has exciting courses to Birmingham, including a non-looping course! It is one of the most popular runs in Birmingham, Al, with a family-friendly after-party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the Marathon course, you will see downtown Birmingham\u2019s growth, with new spots and the traditional Magic City, before heading into Homewood and Mountain Brook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Half Marathon runs through up-and-coming areas of Birmingham with historic landmarks, Mountain Brook and Homewood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10K, 5K, and Fun Run options will take place on Saturday, October 1st, in DOWNTOWN HOMEWOOD. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

11. Wade Mountain Marathon<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The courses are very flat and fast on fully paved trails through Gulf State Park. They start and finish at the Hangout, with beautiful beaches and views of the Gulf of Mexico. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the Marathon and Half Marathon, there is the Safari 7K on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, at age 33, after a co-worker convinced him to try crossfit, he got back to working out and being active. Greg did crossfit for 5 years and ran occasionally to supplement his workouts. As his distances grew longer, a friend inspired him to run a half marathon, which they did together on his 37th birthday. He felt amazing after the run - and it was this feeling that he became addicted to and began thinking about training for a full marathon. As the months went by, he was inspired by an opposition Russian politician Evgeniy Royzman who talked about his marathon training in his weekly youtube posts, as well as by a Boston-based venture capitalists, Semyon Dukach, founder of One Way Ventures, who trained for and ran several marathons that year. Finally, in November of 2018, Greg partnered with Joe McConkey, a head trainer at Boston Running Center, and began training for his first marathon. Greg ran his first marathon in Newport in April. The race was major struggle, as he started out too fast and quickly realized that he was not ready for the amount of hills that comprised the course. But, after stopping several times, he nevertheless finished in exactly 4 hours which was his goal. The experience inspired him to continue to train and he ran his second marathon later that year in Liston, Portugal in a much faster 3 hours and 36 minutes. This race was along the beautiful Portugal coast, stretching from Cascais to Lisbon, and Greg was once again inspired to continue to train with the goal of running the Boston marathon next. Based on his age, the minimum qualifying time is 3:10, but given how many applicants typically apply he will need at least a 3:05 finish time to qualify. He continued to train for another 2 years and improved his time to 3 hours and 21 minutes in Albany, NY in October 2021. He also ran a half marathon in Maine in May 2022 and another full marathon in Biloxi, Mississippi in December 2022. All throughout his journey as a runner, Greg struggled to find his next race. Every time started looking, he found himself combing through dozens of websites and spending hours trying to figure out which races fit his location and time criteria, while also being interesting and relatively easy to run. In early 2022, fed up with this problem, Greg decided to build and launch Runzy so that runners like him could easily find the perfect race for them to run next. Finally, at age 33, after a co-worker convinced him to try crossfit, he got back to working out and being active. Greg did crossfit for 5 years and ran occasionally to supplement his workouts. As his distances grew longer, a friend inspired him to run a half marathon, which they did together on his 37th birthday. He felt amazing after the run - and it was this feeling that he became addicted to and began thinking about training for a full marathon. As the months went by, he was inspired by an opposition Russian politician Evgeniy Royzman who talked about his marathon training in his weekly youtube posts, as well as by a Boston-based venture capitalists, Semyon Dukach, founder of One Way Ventures, who trained for and ran several marathons that year. Finally, in November of 2018, Greg partnered with Joe McConkey, a head trainer at Boston Running Center, and began training for his first marathon. Greg ran his first marathon in Newport in April. The race was major struggle, as he started out too fast and quickly realized that he was not ready for the amount of hills that comprised the course. But, after stopping several times, he nevertheless finished in exactly 4 hours which was his goal. The experience inspired him to continue to train and he ran his second marathon later that year in Liston, Portugal in a much faster 3 hours and 36 minutes. This race was along the beautiful Portugal coast, stretching from Cascais to Lisbon, and Greg was once again inspired to continue to train with the goal of running the Boston marathon next. Based on his age, the minimum qualifying time is 3:10, but given how many applicants typically apply he will need at least a 3:05 finish time to qualify. He continued to train for another 2 years and improved his time to 3 hours and 21 minutes in Albany, NY in October 2021. He also ran a half marathon in Maine in May 2022 and another full marathon in Biloxi, Mississippi in December 2022. All throughout his journey as a runner, Greg struggled to find his next race. Every time started looking, he found himself combing through dozens of websites and spending hours trying to figure out which races fit his location and time criteria, while also being interesting and relatively easy to run. In early 2022, fed up with this problem, Greg decided to build and launch Runzy so that runners like him could easily find the perfect race for them to run next.
