The Run for the 1 in 100<\/a> will be held on September 17, 2022, at Sandia Lakes. This year, it will be hosted by the Lexiam Heart Foundation for the first time.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All proceeds will benefit children and families affected by congenital heart defects. There will be a 5K\/2K Walk\/Run, family-friendly activities, and a Remembrance Ceremony for our Heart Angels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. HERO Run<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The 4th Annual 5k Hero Run<\/a> will be held on September 24, 2022. All proceeds from Hero Run benefit scholarships for A2A NM. Some of the proceeds will also benefit ACHR staff and members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The New Mexico 5k run will be held at the UNM North Campus Golf Course. The run starts at 8 am and follows a picturesque path around the golf course for a fun 3.1-mile run or walk. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All runners will get a race t-shirt, a swag bag, and another few presents!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Wolf Pack Trail Run<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The 8th Annual Wolf Pack Trail Run<\/a> will be held on September 25th and is the only single-track race in town. The course starts and finishes at the picturesque Waldorf campus and runs a loop through the Arroyo Hondo Open Space. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All proceeds will benefit the SFWS Sports Booster Club, which helps the school\u2019s athletic program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 8th Annual Bernalillo County Sugar Skull Fun Run<\/a> will be held on October 23, 2022.  You can walk, jog, strut or stroll your way through the amazing Bosque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether you decide to walk, jog or run to the finish line, the crowd will cheer you on in your D\u00eda de Los Muertos attire! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dogs are welcome for the 1-mile strut and stroll. All proceeds will benefit the Bernalillo County Quality of Life Fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Great Balloon Chase<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You won’t find the same destination race! You will be excited by the beauty of a morning run looking upon hot air balloons from the world\u2019s largest hot air ballooning event taking to the sky and backdropped against the Sandia Mountains and Rio Grande River Valley. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The entry fee includes a Balloon Fiesta General Admission Ticket, a race T-shirt, a custom medal, and a 5th Anniversary Present! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Sandia Mountain Shadows Trail Run<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The 18th Annual Sandia Mountain Shadows Trail Run<\/a> will be held on October 2, 2022. Whether you choose the 10K or 5K, this run will be fun! You will see the picturesque views of the Rio Grande Valley, the City of Albuquerque, and the scenic foothills of the Sandia Mountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The race starts at the Piedra Lisa Park, east of Tramway and Menaul, heads into the Sandia Foothill trails, and finishes at the Piedra Lisa Park. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Runners in each Age Group and Overall Top male and female finishers will receive medals. All athletes will get a race T-shirt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Santa Fe International Half Marathon<\/a> will be held on October 9, 2022, and celebrates Indigenous Peoples’ Day to honor the cultures worldwide. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The course starts in the center of Santa Fe at historic Fort Marcy. Then the point-to-point road follows the Old Taos Highway and finishes at the beautiful Buffalo Thunder Resort & Casino within the Pojoaque Pueblo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a USATF-certified course that features scenic views of the Sangre de Cristo and Jemez mountains while going into the colorful Rio Grande Valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9. State 47 Las Cruces Marathon<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Duke City Marathon<\/a> will be held on October 16, 2022. The course starts at Mayor Kinney Civic Plaza in downtown Albuquerque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 1984, the Duke City Marathon has been hosting seven races: A marathon, marathon relay, half marathon, 10K Run, 10K Walk, 5K Run, and a 5K Walk. So everybody can find something for themself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The top runners in each Age Group and Category will receive awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

12. Bataan Memorial Death March<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Bataan Memorial Death March<\/a> will be held on March 19, 2023, and is a challenging run through the high desert terrain of the White Sands Missile Range. The memorial march is hosted in honor of the heroic militaries who defended the Philippine Islands during World War II.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the 26.2-mile course, the route goes northwest from Water Point 4\/8, along a small mountain known as Mineral Hill. Returning to Water Station 4\/8, marathoners run south along the paved road. Finally, at age 33, after a co-worker convinced him to try crossfit, he got back to working out and being active. Greg did crossfit for 5 years and ran occasionally to supplement his workouts. As his distances grew longer, a friend inspired him to run a half marathon, which they did together on his 37th birthday. He felt amazing after the run - and it was this feeling that he became addicted to and began thinking about training for a full marathon. As the months went by, he was inspired by an opposition Russian politician Evgeniy Royzman who talked about his marathon training in his weekly youtube posts, as well as by a Boston-based venture capitalists, Semyon Dukach, founder of One Way Ventures, who trained for and ran several marathons that year. Finally, in November of 2018, Greg partnered with Joe McConkey, a head trainer at Boston Running Center, and began training for his first marathon. Greg ran his first marathon in Newport in April. The race was major struggle, as he started out too fast and quickly realized that he was not ready for the amount of hills that comprised the course. But, after stopping several times, he nevertheless finished in exactly 4 hours which was his goal. The experience inspired him to continue to train and he ran his second marathon later that year in Liston, Portugal in a much faster 3 hours and 36 minutes. This race was along the beautiful Portugal coast, stretching from Cascais to Lisbon, and Greg was once again inspired to continue to train with the goal of running the Boston marathon next. Based on his age, the minimum qualifying time is 3:10, but given how many applicants typically apply he will need at least a 3:05 finish time to qualify. He continued to train for another 2 years and improved his time to 3 hours and 21 minutes in Albany, NY in October 2021. He also ran a half marathon in Maine in May 2022 and another full marathon in Biloxi, Mississippi in December 2022. All throughout his journey as a runner, Greg struggled to find his next race. Every time started looking, he found himself combing through dozens of websites and spending hours trying to figure out which races fit his location and time criteria, while also being interesting and relatively easy to run. In early 2022, fed up with this problem, Greg decided to build and launch Runzy so that runners like him could easily find the perfect race for them to run next. Finally, at age 33, after a co-worker convinced him to try crossfit, he got back to working out and being active. Greg did crossfit for 5 years and ran occasionally to supplement his workouts. As his distances grew longer, a friend inspired him to run a half marathon, which they did together on his 37th birthday. He felt amazing after the run - and it was this feeling that he became addicted to and began thinking about training for a full marathon. As the months went by, he was inspired by an opposition Russian politician Evgeniy Royzman who talked about his marathon training in his weekly youtube posts, as well as by a Boston-based venture capitalists, Semyon Dukach, founder of One Way Ventures, who trained for and ran several marathons that year. Finally, in November of 2018, Greg partnered with Joe McConkey, a head trainer at Boston Running Center, and began training for his first marathon. Greg ran his first marathon in Newport in April. The race was major struggle, as he started out too fast and quickly realized that he was not ready for the amount of hills that comprised the course. But, after stopping several times, he nevertheless finished in exactly 4 hours which was his goal. The experience inspired him to continue to train and he ran his second marathon later that year in Liston, Portugal in a much faster 3 hours and 36 minutes. This race was along the beautiful Portugal coast, stretching from Cascais to Lisbon, and Greg was once again inspired to continue to train with the goal of running the Boston marathon next. Based on his age, the minimum qualifying time is 3:10, but given how many applicants typically apply he will need at least a 3:05 finish time to qualify. He continued to train for another 2 years and improved his time to 3 hours and 21 minutes in Albany, NY in October 2021. He also ran a half marathon in Maine in May 2022 and another full marathon in Biloxi, Mississippi in December 2022. All throughout his journey as a runner, Greg struggled to find his next race. Every time started looking, he found himself combing through dozens of websites and spending hours trying to figure out which races fit his location and time criteria, while also being interesting and relatively easy to run. In early 2022, fed up with this problem, Greg decided to build and launch Runzy so that runners like him could easily find the perfect race for them to run next.
